Red River Judo was founded in 2002 by Vern Borgen. Professor Borgen taught Judo at North Dakota State University since 1979. At Red River Judo we practice Kodokan Judo, both within the context of current competition rules as well as techniques which are part of the full art of Judo but no longer allowed in competition (e.g. leg grabs, etc.).
